Trace-element contg. agents for promoting plant-growth, which may contain herbicides, fertilizers, pesticides and siccatives as additives, are produced by reacting montan wax or resin with metal carbonates, oxides or hydroxides in the molten state at 120-200 degrees C (pref. 160-180 degrees C), and opt. mixing with dispersing agents, surface-active substances and/or slate flour or kaolin. Cheaper to produce than complexes of trace metals with e.g. o-hydroxyphenylacetic acid or ethylenediamine, and are better tolerated by plants.
