The equipment for surveillance of wear on working parts used in machine tools has the tool adjustable by means of a positioning component which is moved against a spring return force by a pressure fluid. The tool wear is compensated by the operation of the position component on the basis of registered alterations in the machining dimensions. A pressure measurement device (20) is connected to the position component (5), whereby the pressure alterations in the position component corresponding to the compensation of machining dimension variations constitutes an indication of the extend of wear on the working tool (7). The pressure measurement device (20) has an adjusting screw (28) for adjusting the indicator back to a zero position after a tool (7) has been installed for the first time.
