Calcining plant for cement clinker - using burner chamber between preheating cyclones and roasting furnace

Plant for the mfr. of cement by the dry method, comprising a heat exchanger for preheating the material, a chamber (I) for removing carbonates, a roasting furnace, and a cooler. The chamber (I) is cylindrical or cylindroconical, with a horizontal or inclined axis, and fitted at one end with a burner on the axis whereas, at the other end, is a common inlet for the gas escaping from the roasting furnace and for the sec. air, the inlet being located on the axis and provided with a distributor baffle dividing the gases into an axial stream into which the cement is fed, and an annular stream travelling along the chamber wall over the entire periphery. Prevents molten or adhesive particles from being deposited on the inner walls of the plant; such deposits can block the paths taken by the cement.
