The safety ski binding has a sole plate (1) which is clamped to the ski boot heel (3) by means of a bowden cable (7, 8). To cater for varying ski boot sizes, an adjustable cable hook plate (6) is located on the sole plate. The hook plate and the sole plate have teeth which are normally in mesh with each other, but which can be disengaged for adjustments to the hook plate (6). A toggle lever (4) which produces the clamping tension in the cable, has two clamp cable locations (14). This enables the correct cable tension to be obtained in cases whe where the adjustment from the teeth is not suitable.
