The wire grips of the main patent have two jaws (21) which hold the through wire (1). The jaws are surrounded by a rigid exterior body (5) which has inclined internal surfaces (50). These surfaces are parallel to the surfaces (26) on the outer sides of the jaws. Two plates (260) and 320) made from elastic material are placed between the surfaces (26) and (50) and rollers (4) are located between their parallel faces. The rollers are kept apart by shaped sections (351). Each of the jaws is fitted with an adjusting screw (61) at the outer end, so that the outer body may be moved longitudinally.
