Compounds of the formula: IMAGE wherein A represents a phenyl, pyrid-2-yl, quinol-2-yl or 1,8-naphthyridin-2-yl radical, each such radical being optionally substituted by a halogen atom, an alkyl radical of 1 through 4 carbon atoms, an alkoxy radical of 1 through 4 carbon atoms, the cyano or nitro radical, and R represents hydrogen or an alkyl radical of 1 through 4 carbon atoms, an alkenyl radical of 2 through 4 carbon atoms or an alkanoyl radical of 1 through 4 carbon atoms, possess pharmacological properties and are particularly active as tranquillizers, anti-convulsant agents, decontracturants and agents to produce hypnosis.
