External torque component locking device - has spiral profile working with complementary component thrust axially proportionally to applied torque

The locking device secures a component subjected to unwanted torque. It comprises a component to be locked (I) anda complementary movable one (2) engaging mechanically with a stationary one (3). One of the first two components has a spiral profile (4, 5) so taht any undesired rotation of the component to be locked is converted into a linear movement, exerted by the movable component on the stationary one in the lengthwise direction. This gives a self-locking action, the locking force increasing with increasing torque.
