Abstract of the DisclosureA thermal cut-off fuse comprises a housing, a pairof terminals opposed to each other within the housing,a sliding means constantly urged by a spring, a thermalpellet adapted to melt at a fixed elevated temperatureand remain in a solid state at normal room temperatureand, by virtue of the solid state, restrain the slidingmeans from the forward motion imparted thereto by thespring and consequently serve to form a continuous spacebetween the pair of terminals, and a conductive materialdisposed within the space to establish electriccontinuity between the terminals. When the ambienttemperature is elevated to reach the fixed level, thethermal pellet melts, to release the sliding means andallow it to move under the force of the spring into aposition where it severs the continuous space and conse-quently breaks the electric continuity between the twoterminals.
