Non-return valve for piston air compressor - has split valve rings which cover radial valve slots

The non-return valve is designed for use in high speed pneumatic piston pumps. It has a cylindrical valve housing and the valve housing is provided with sets of radial slots, and is placed inside a location cylinder. The radial valve slots are externally covered by a number of split valve rings. Each valve ring is located by a radial pin which engages the ring slot. The valve rings are made of spring steel, and they expand as air is forced outwards through the radial slots, thus ensuring air transfer in one direction only.
