This article presents studies results for the effect of self-acting valve plate motion law on the calculation of efficiency indicators of working process, such as the temperature of injected gas, the feed coefficient and the indicator isothermal efficiency. The paper considers motion laws for plates as an ideal valve, considering elastic properties of the lift limiter and the seat. The conducted research has shown the necessity of the method for calculating the dynamics of real valves with elastomeric elements of low-speed long-stroke compressor units and conducting experimental studies to clarify the individual components of this method. For engineering calculations with an error of no more than 10%, it is possible to use a simplified calculation method without elastic properties of the lift limiter and the seat.
