Device for inscribing posters (10), having a basic frame (1) which carries a first carrier frame (13) with a bracket (8) of the height of the workstation and a second carrier frame (2) approximately twice as high, on which the plane poster carrier (5) is mounted vertically. In the bracket (8), a writing unit (11, 110) is arranged so as to be laterally displaceable parallel to the poster-carrier plane in the guide means (12; 121) via a drive motor (24), on a baseplate (26) which is drawn in a guide device (28) by a spring (32) in the direction of the poster-carrier plane and which is supported on the poster (10) by means of a roller (33), the writing head (11) being located close in front of the poster (10). In the second carrier frame (2) are arranged vertical guide rails (3; 37, 39) and a parallel drive (19, 20) which moves the poster carrier (5) vertically by means of a stepping motor (15) via a toothed-belt drive (16, 17, 18). The writing head (11) is a mosaic writing head, preferably an ink-jet writing head. Writing elements with different inks are provided. The device is controlled by means of a processor. IMAGE
