PURPOSE:To improve growth promoting effect, by using an L-ascorbic acid higher fatty acid ester having stability in a feed as a vitamin C source to be blended with a feed for rearing an aquatic animal. CONSTITUTION:A feed for rearing an aquatic animal, consisting of white fish meal, defatted powdered milk, a soybean cake, animal or vegetable fats and oils, etc. is blended with about 0.04-0.25wt% L-ascorbic acid higher fatty acid ester, to give the titled feed. Palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, etc. may be preferable as the higher fatty acid, and in the addition of the L-ascorbic acid higher fatty acid ester, it is dissolved in animal or vegetable fats and oils for rearing an aquatic animal and preferably added to the feed. The L-ascorbic acid higher fatty acid ester is different from vitamin C, has more improved stability in the feed, and converted into vitamin C in the body of reared aquatic animal.
