The superconducting excitation winding, for a turbogenerator, is introduced into the rotor's slots. The electrical connections (90, 101) between adjacent coils (9, 10) of the winding are laid in connection slots (7) in the surface (2) of the winding support. The surface of the support has concentric slots for the closed coils. The connecting points are readily accessible so that joining can be accomplished by e.g. ultrasonic welding.
