process for the production of a new tetraploiden and bisabololreichen chamomile with improved properties

A new tetraploid form of the true camomile (Chamomile recutita; syn. Matricaria chamomilla) produces flowers which (when dried at 40 deg.C) contain at least 100 mg% chamazulene (I); at least 200 mg% (-)-alpha-bioabolal (II) and less than 50 mg% other bisaboloids (III), on dry wt. basis. Also claimed are (1) propagation material from this new form and (2) ethereal oils and alcoholic extracts prepd. from it.
