The heating boiler with atmospheric gas burner, which is arranged in the lower region of a vertical combustion shaft with an upper chimney connection, the heat transmission surfaces and a displacement insert being arranged below the chimney connection, is according to the invention designed in such a manner that there is arranged on the lower edge (1) of the water-cooled combustion shaft (2) a bottom tray (4) which covers the entire lower cross-section of the combustion shaft (2) and is fitted into the latter. Arranged in a uniformly distributed manner above the cross-sectional surface (5) of the bottom tray is a number of incoming-air ducts (6). As a result, a compact design of the entire combustion chamber region of the heating boiler is achieved in the form of a pre-assembled part and downward heat radiation is considerably reduced. IMAGE
