The atmospheric gas burner for a heating boiler comprises; (a) a burner control; (b) a gas distributor with groups of gas nozzles which suck air into a mixer chamber and are arranged to produce a main gas stream and a sub-stream; (c) a gas supply fitted with two shut-off valves (1, 2); (d) a servo regulator (3) for the pressure of the main gas stream; and (e) a pressure regulator (4) for the sub-stream fitted with a electrically operated modulator (5). When the regulators are opened the sub-stream is released with a time lag into the main stream.
