The circuit arrangement for synthetic generation of an echo signal, preferably for percussion instruments, consists of an envelope generator and a trigger generator, which is preferably connected in series via a delay line to a digital read-only memory, which generates a fixed basic echo sound. A VCA component is connected in series to this read-only memory. The trigger generator triggers the envelope generator and the read-only memory, and the envelope generator controls the VCA component which is connected in series after the read-only memory.
