NEGATIVE TYPE SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL IMPROVED IN STORAGE STABILITY AND IMAGE QUALITY

PURPOSE:To enhance humidity resistance by incorporating a means for forming an unsharp positive image in a layer containing core/shell type silver halide grains and/or an emulsion layer different in color sensitivity from that layer in combination with said layer containing said silver halide grains. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide emulsion layer contains the core/shell type silver halide grains, preferably, having an average silver iodide content of 4-20mol% and in combination with this layer the colored compound capable of forming an unsharp positive image is contained and this compound can be released by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a developing agent and moderately diffuses into a developing solution, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive material to be enhanced in the storage stability, especially, the humidity resistance of a raw film and simultaneously improved in both of graininess and sharpness.
