PURPOSE:To enable to use cassettes that contain sheet paper which are distinct from each other in weight by selecting an energized force for each weitht of the paper loading plate, on which many sheets of paper are loaded, by means of a control element. CONSTITUTION:In the cassette 1 that contains small-sized sheet paper P1, a cam face 13a of a selector 13 of the cassette side plate 1b is located at the position wherein a force energized by a subspring 11 is not developed, the push-up element 6 presses the first sheet of paper against the paper feeding roller 2 by means of a force energized by only the main spring 10. In the case of a large-sized sheet paper, the cam 13a' of the selector 13' is located at the position wherein a force energized by the subspring is developed, the push-up element 6 presses the paper against the paper feed roller 2 by means of the sum of forces energized by the main and subsprings 10, 11. In this way, a uniform pressure for feeding the paper can be maintained by force energized by the main spring 10 in the case of a small-sized paper and by compensating the energized force by means of the subspring 11 in the case of a large-sized paper.
