ELECTRON SPIN RESONATING DEVICE PROVIDED WITH LOOP GAP RESONATOR

PURPOSE:To measure ESR (electron spin resonance) on an optional part of a large-sized measurement object by bringing a loop into contact with the surface of the measurement object to measure resonance ESR and shifting the loop contacting position. CONSTITUTION:The length of a loop 1 is shortened into a ring, and the loop 1 is held on an insulating thin plate 6, and a measurement object 7 is so arranged that it is brought into contact with the rear face of the thin plate 6. The whole of this constitution is arranged in an magnetostatic field of proper intensity. When the microwave having a prescribed frequency is supplied to the loop 1 through a loop antenna 4, a microwave magnetic field is formed in the loop 1 and is leaked out of the loop 1. Therefore, ESR is measured in an area Z on the surface of the object 7 upon which this leaked microwave magnetic field acts. Thus, ESR on an optical part of the large-sized object 7 is measured.
