PURPOSE:To breed bacteria having improved productivity of thermostable liquefying type amylase, by cloning specific thermostable liquefying type amylase- producing chromosomic DNA fragments and integrating the fragment into the chromosome of amylase-producing microbial cells. CONSTITUTION:Thermostable liquefying type amylase-producing chromosomic DNA fragments, such as Bacillus licheniformis TY002 (FERM-P No.9222) or TY002.571 (FERM-P No.9224) are cloned and then integrated into the chromosome of an amylase-producing microorganism to breed Bacillus licheniformis having stably enhanced productivity thermostable liquefying type amylase. The resultant microbial cells are used to carry out cultivation and production of thermostable liquefying type amylase can be increased by amplifying effects of genes newly integrated onto the chromosome in the cells in addition to productivity of a conventional thermostable liquefying type amylase held by the microbial cells thereof.
