The length sorting device for flowers has a flower transporting conveyors and directors (4) for sensing their length. There is also a distributor (5) mechanism for sending each flower to a collector (3) independently of length. The conveyor transports the flowers in an almost vertical position gripping them under the calyx. The conveyor has various associated tracks (12) through one of which flowers in the distributor mechanism are led, being controlled by signals from the detectors. The distributor is pivotable and attached to one part of the inlet side (10) of the conveyor and attachable to the other side under the control of one track's detector signal. Distributor pivoting is aided by a movement mechanism and a cooperating piston-cylinder system (17,18).
