Processing equipment for cut flowers, and in particular roses, comprises a conveyor (12) fitted with suspension forks (21) or tools which grip the stem of the flower directly beneath the bud so that each flower is conveyed with the stem hanging down. A sorting mechanism grades the flowers into groups determined by the length of their stems at collection points (14) located near the conveyor. A trimming device (13) placed next to the conveyor trims all the stems to predetermined standard lengths. At each collection unit the flowers are arranged so that the cut stems lie in line with one another.
