PATIENT UNDERSHEET FOR PREVENTING BED SORESInventor: Nathan MayerABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA patient care undersheet includes a minimumnumber of support points in order to keep a bedriddenpatient from developing decubitus ulcers. The undersheetpreferably comprises a bottom layer having a number ofconically shaped bubble-like supports and a top layercomprising a non-woven fabric. An adhesive material connectsthe non-woven fabric to the bubble-like supports in such amanner that under pressure the bubble-like supports underpressure do not move with respect to each other. Thebubble-like supports are air tight so that the undersheetdoes not collapse under the pressure of a patient's body.The ares. OF contact of the top of the bubble-like supportsto the non-woven fabric is approximately 40°0 of the totaltop surface of the undersheet. A patient only has to move avery small distance before a new area of skin is supportedby the undersheet.
