GUIDING BERAING DEVICE FOR A STANDING REVOLUTIONER

The bearing system for a vertical rotary machine has the guide bearing immersed in oil in an oil tank (10) around the rotor shaft (1). The guide bearing has a cylindrical bearing surface (7) juxtaposed against the peripheral surface of the rotor shaft and several axially extending oil grooves formed in the cylindrical bearing surface. An oil guides is mounted on a lower end surface of the guide bearing adjacent to the open lower axial end of each oil groove. Each oil guide has a guide surface facing a flow of oil in the oil tank induced by the rotation of the rotor shaft for guiding the oil flow into the associated oil groove.
