In order to heat and/or air condition a motor vehicle, a motor M acts on the position of at least one mixing member VM for the air blown into the passenger compartment HA. A generator GSE supplies a deviation signal DV from a set-point temperature TC as well as a signal for the temperature TA of the air blown in and for the passenger compartment temperature TI. The deviation signal DV is applied to two comparators CD and CI which allow the motor to be turned off or on in one or other direction, respectively, as a function of the deviation signal. The comparators operate in intermittent mode, with a square-wave control signal whose form factor and/or frequency increase with the amplitude of the temperature deviation. IMAGE
