A method of cleaning film includes:PP(a) providing a cleaning zone and passing film laterally through that zone, P P(b) providing streams of gas flowing toward opposite sides of the film as it passes in said zone, andPP(c) supplying ions of opposite polarity to the air streams and in cyclically reversing polarity relation.
