摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a novel substantially linear copolymer, having specific recurring units and high polymerization degree and capable of simultaneously exhibiting excellent electrochemical characteristics, mechanical strength and moldability and providing an electrically active polymer by doping with an electron acceptor. CONSTITUTION:A novel copolymer expressed by formula I (R is H, 1-20C hydrocarbon group, furyl, pyridyl or methoxyphenyl; n is 1-50; x is 2-1,000). The above-mentioned copolymer is obtained by, e.g. polycondensing a compound having a 3,10-phenoxazinediyl structure expressed by formula II as recurring units with an aldehyde expressed by the formula RCHO or polymer thereof in an organic solvent, such as ethyl ether or chloroform, at 0-200 deg.C using a catalyst, such as sulfuric acid. The copolymer expressed by formula I is doped with an electron acceptor, e.g. iodine or nitric acid, to afford an electrically active polymer capable of exhibiting high electrical activity and carrying out oxidative and reductive reaction with excellent repeatability.
