PURPOSE:To prevent the loss of system functions by controlling the average molecular weight of gas which is computed based on the flow rate at inlet port through which the gas is sucked from an atomic reactor container and the temperature and pressure of process gas after recombination reaction with respect to an objective control value. CONSTITUTION:When coolant loss accident occurs in an atomic power plant, combustible gas, steam and the like are discharged into a dry well 1. Process gas which is sucked out of the dry well 1 is controlled to an objective control flow rate with an inlet-port flow-rate regulating valve 3. Pressure is increased with a blower 12. The process gas is sent into a heater 13 and thereafter devices. The process gas is heated in the heater 13. When the process gas stays in a recombiner 14, hydrogen and oxygen in the process gas undergo bonding reaction and steam is formed. The high temperature process gas after the reaction is cooled in a cooler 15 and returned into a suppression chamber 18. This process is repeated continuously, and the concentration of the combustible gas in the dry well 1 and the suppression chamber 18 is reduced.
