In an electr(on)ic time programme switching device, especially a clock with a processor, character display device, input and output unit for switching apparatuses, power supply assemblies and/or further associated subassemblies the invention is that, firstly, a first assembly with a power supply, built-in structural elements of the equipment and switching devices is contained in a first mother housing element as a basic module, at least one storage section being present which is adequate in the event of isolation from the first assembly and others and/or for terminating the already completed part of the switching programme, secondly, furthermore, at least one further assembly (which can optionally be isolated therefrom and can be structurally combined therewith again) is used as a second group (which can be connected to an electronic control unit) for executing or continuing the prepared switching programme and, thirdly, if necessary, contains a further group (if necessary a mechanical- electrical hybrid group) which can be combined/replaced in the same manner as modules of the apparatus, all the structural units of the modules being made ready for operation electr(on)ically optionally by plug connectors (7, 8) and the structural elements of the modules being made stationary, at least predominantly mechanically, by means of hinges or a joint (44) or screw union, and being made ready for operation by means of a snap attachment (10).
