PURPOSE:To reduce the number of components and to facilitate assembly by displacing a latch member in engaging/disengaging directions by using a cam means according to the movement of a card, and supporting pivotally the latch member with a center shaft intersecting orthogonally to the plane of the card. CONSTITUTION:Since the latch member can be displaced in the engaging/ disengaging directions by using the cam means according to the movement of the card 1, the card 1 can be held at an information transfer position only by one solenoid 49, and can be ejected after information is transferred. Also, by supporting pivotally the latch member with the center shaft intersecting orthogonally to the plane of the card 1, the latch member can be thinned. Furthermore, by displacing the latch member selectively in two directions by using a spring member 6 fixed at a casing 3, the latch means can be operated satisfactorily. Thereby, the number of components to comprise a mechanism to hold the card 1 selectively at the information transfer position can be reduced, and also, the assembly can be facilitated.
