PURPOSE:To accurately inject a trace amount of liquid by providing a liquid level sensor which is movable in the Z-axial direction of a ZX table, detecting a liquid surface, and controlling the chip tip of an injector to constant depth from the liquid surface. CONSTITUTION:An injector 1 is set on the ZX table 3 and the chip is set atop. Further, a liquid level sensor cylinder 8 is fitted to the table 3 and the liquid level sensor 7 is fitted to a moving shaft. The Z axis (a) of the table 3 is lowered and the sensor 7 detects the liquid surface. Then the sensor 7 is put back to its original position and the Z axis (a) is moved down by a specific quantity based upon the position where the sensor 7 measures the liquid surface, so that the tip of the chip 2 stops at constant depth from the liquid surface. Here, liquid 5 is sucked in the chip 2, the axis (a) is moved further in an X-axial direction, and the liquid in the injector 1 is discharged at a target position. Consequently, the trace amount of liquid can accurately be injected.
