The invention relates to a joint for an orthesis for the lower limbs, having two branches (1, 2) which are articulated with respect to one another via an axle of rotation (3). According to the invention, this joint comprises a locking system comprising a trigger element (7) which is mounted pivotably about an axle (13) with respect to a first branch (2) of the joint and can be activated manually by a part projecting outwards from this first branch. This trigger element (7) cooperates with a cam profile (6) formed on the second branch (1) of the joint. IMAGE
