The device is used to test for blockage of the pump path of the lamp base using a ssupplied air current. The air channel (4) coupled to the pump sleeve has a branch connection leading to a difference press switch (5). The latter comprises a U tube with a fluid column and an optoelectronic system responsive to the fluid surface level, its switch contacts coupled to an evaluation and sorting control.
