Prodn. comprises applying thermoplastic material (II) to the individual fibres of semi-finished fibre prod., e.g. knitted, (non)woven or laid-up fabric etc. (III), with fibres which are mechanically stable at the processing temp. contacting sheet obtd. with flat layer(s) of thermoplastic material (IV), and moulding by heat and pressure; (II) is applied to (III) in the form of an aq. dispersion to coat fibres with solid particles of (II), water is removed by heating, the sheet obtd. is contacted with (IV), and the combination is hot-press moulded and cooled under pressure. Pref. several sheets are laminated together, with interlayers of (IV) and with (IV) as the outer layer; (II) is a PVC-contg. plastic, and (III) are formed to obstruct the moulding process slightly. Avoids using solvent (no disposal problems, etc.); (I) are useful, e.g. for the prodn. of seats, shoes, sports appts., etc..
