The invention relates to the production of impression holder metallic blocks for moulds for transforming plastic materials, particularly for an injection mould. With the aid of a modular frame (1) consisting of two rigid frameworks (2, 3), the inner (10, 11) and outer (12, 13) faces of which are undercut (reentrant) by at least 2% with respect to the joining plane (7) resulting from the superposition of the said frameworks (2, 3), the following operations are performed: a) covering of a pattern on retreat, production of a die model, production of a punch model, and production of die and punch foundry moulds in order to obtain, by casting (pouring) a copper base alloy, two impression holder metallic blocks, the respective die and punch impressions of which do not require machining in order to form a mould (51).
