PURPOSE: To obtain the subject device, having a tractive or a self-propelled machine body equipped with shanks sinking the side of their lower ends in the ground, further a push-up plate in the lower ends of the shanks and a soil discharger capable of carrying culture soil out of a field and capable of readily and easily performing operation to take out root parts of Chinese yams. ;CONSTITUTION: In a digger for Chinese yams for digging out the Chinese yams, cultivated and raised in a field, shanks (b) sinking the side of their lower ends in the ground is installed in a tractive or a self-propelled machine body (a) and a push-up plate (c) in the form of a long batten plate in the front and rear directions capable of tilting and lifting toward the rear is attached to the lower ends of the shanks (b). Endless chain type drillers(d) are arranged in front of the shanks (b) and installed in the machine body (a). A soil discharger (e) for laterally carrying soil, earthed up to a ridge (u) in the field and located above the push-up plate (c) when viewed from the rear to the rear is arranged in front of the shanks (b), supported by booms of the drillers (d) and installed in the machine body (a) to easily and readily and perform operation to take out the root parts (R) of the Chinese yams pushed up together with the soil of the ridge (u).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
