The invention relates to a method and a device for the automatic transfer of proved doughpieces from a proving cupboard to an oven system. The known arrangements require a relatively large amount of space between the proving cupboard and the oven system. To solve this problem, the invention provides within a proving cupboard (1) a withdrawal belt (5), driven in steps and arranged in a fixed location, which removes the proved doughpieces (7) from the revolving proving tiles and groups them in a manner appropriate to the oven system. The group of doughpieces is removed from the withdrawal belt (5) by means of a movable withdrawal device via a lateral discharge opening (6) and fed to the oven system. IMAGE
