PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant having improved desiccation resistance and delayed flower bud formation, or a method for improving the desiccation resistance of plants and delaying their flower bud formation. PSOLUTION: Provided are transformed plants exhibiting remarkable desiccation resistance by introducing a gene of BZF-I transcription factor into the plants compared with wild-type and control transformed plants, and/or with delayed flower bud formation. Also provided is a method for improving the desiccation resistance of plants and/or delaying the flower bud formation by introducing the gene of BZF-I transcription factor into plants.
