a device and a method for the simultaneous measurement of the electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity of refractory products, such as carbon.the process involves heating a cylindrical test piece by passage of an electric current increase in successive stages.for the steady temperature field is established in the tube and, at each step, the voltage between two points which are symmetrical in relation to the center of the tube.the electric power through the specimen and the temperatures in both the symmetric and in the middle of the test piece.the processing of data by computer is used to determine the electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity of the specimen and its evolution as a function of temperature.the method is applied to the refractory products with a degree of electrical and thermal conductivity, carbides, nitrides and carbon products.
