The device consists of a fixed receptacle (5) of annular shape including, over its entire width in the radial direction and over its entire length in the axial direction, a helical wall (6) having, as axis, the axis (4) of the receptacle (5). The wall (6) delimits a helical storing space having, in the axial direction (4), a plurality of successive hollow turns, in each of which is wound a turn of the elongate body (10). The elongate body (10) is movable between a storing position, in which the turns are wound in the vicinity of the outer lateral surface of the receptacle (5), and an extracted position, in which the turns are wound in the vicinity of the inner lateral surface of the receptacle (5).
