In methods for one- to three-dimensional measurement of jaw or jaw joint movements and devices for carrying out such methods, projection-related measurement errors may result due to the fact that the measuring device with emitter and receiver cannot be located in the joint but is arranged to the side of it. These projection-related measurement errors caused by geometric magnification or distorsion effects are corrected in that the measurement signals for the x direction, y direction and z direction are each multiplied by a factor. There is described a device with which the corrections can be made.
