GROMMET SLIPPING-OFF PREVENTIVE MEMBER AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE: To enhance the working easiness in mounting and reming a grommet made of a soft material without forming its slip-off preventive flange with a large wall thickness by fitting the flange with a slip-off stopper member of hard material which is fitted in the bore of the flange and on the periphery thereof. ;CONSTITUTION: A slip-off stopper member 20 has an outer ring 22 to be fitted on a grommet 50 and an inner ring 24 to be fitted therein and is embodied as a single piece molding from a hard material. To mount this stopper member 20 on the grommet 50, first the member 20 is put in open condition, and the outer ring 22 is closed while a ring-shaped projection 26 provided thereon is going to be inserted in a ring-shaped recess 56 provided in the gromet 50, and then locking is generated by detention parts 30, 32. The split halves of the inner ring 24 are folded inward, and the cylindrical part of the inner ring 24 is fitted in the bore of a slip-off preventive flange 54, and the locking parts are engaged by each other. This allows preventing the flange from deformation certainly without causing increase in the wall thickness of the flange 54 and facilitating the mounting and removing works of the stopper member 20 to lead to enhancement of the working effectiveness.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
