PURPOSE: To obtain a gene useful for raising concentration of growth hormone in a body of a fish without administrating a growth hormone. ;CONSTITUTION: A gene encodes a transcriptional control factor of a growth hormone gene of a fish having an amino acid sequence of the formula. First a mRNA having a poly A is obtained from whole RNA extracted from pituitary of a fish. The mRNA is used as a template to prepare a duplex DNA, which is inserted into a phage-vector to constitute a cDNA library. Plaque hybridization is carried out by using a synthetic probe to give the objective gene- containing plaque.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
