Heat stress proteins (Hsp) and heat stress transcription factors (Hsf) are structurally and functionally conserved elements of the eukaryotic heat stress response. However, compared to other organisms, plants have much more elaborate systems of chaperones and at least 21 transcription factors controlling their expression.
