PURPOSE:To provide a method for removing impure ions in a copper electrolyte where impure metal ions of bismuth, antimony, etc., in a copper electrolyte which were hard to remove before by copper removing and arsenic removing electrolysis, etc., are effectively absorbed and removed. CONSTITUTION:Any of divinylbenzene based copolymer, epoxy resin, phenol resin, resorcin resin and vinyl chloride resin is used as a matrix resin and a copper electrolyte is brought into contact with a chelate resin having amidoxime groups as functional ones to remove impure metal ions in the copper electrolyte by absorption with the chelate resin.
