The radiator has individual vertical heating elements, which are especially made of aluminium, and which have bottom connections for the outward and return flows. The connection between two individual elements, in the region of their lower connecting hubs, is sealed. The radiator also has a universal valve insert (3) in the upper connecting hub (5) of the end element (1), which can control the throughflow of a heating fluid from zero to a maximum value. The insert may have an inlet and an outlet, which may be connected to one another via a valve seat chamber, and may have a threaded section which corresponds to the internal thread on the upper connecting hub of a heating element. It may also have a receptacle to accommodate a thermostatic valve.
