The texol is produced by (a) sterilizing tissue taken from Taxus cuspidata; (b) inducing callus from the sterilized tissue, which is cultured on white medium or heller medium containing 5-20ppm 2,4-D and 0.5-5% coconut water; (c) proliferating callus, which is cultured on murashige skoog medium or SH medium containing 5-20ppm 2,4-D and 0.5-5% coconut water; (d) obtaining cell suspension from liquid medium where the proliferated callus is cultured; (e) recovering taxol from cell suspension or cell.
