The caster wheel has a pivoted carrier with wheel axis, carrying two wheels, and a brake unit. A brake lever (19) simultaneously acts vertically on the wheel brake part (31) and on the pivot locking part (32) which is movably connected to it. The wheel brake part is located approximately above the wheel axle (17). Its two outer toothings engage into the internally toothed (29) rims (28). The pivot locking part engages partially over the wheel brake part. It has a horizontal toothed ring section (43) which extends under a counter toothing (27) on the end (24) of the pivot bolt (14).
