Measurement system with interchangeable sensor modules for scientific and technical instrumentation

The measurement system has a number of measurement sensors (1,2) each of which incorporates transducer element (1', 2') and an associated data store (4). Each data store contains calibration data for its associated transducer element. All sensors and related data stores are connected to a microprocessor (7) in the measurement system. The microprocessor acquires measurement data from the sensor and its associated calibration data from the data store and calculates a calibrated measurement value. On exchanging measurement sensors, no change is necessary to the measurement system.
